High friction surface treatment
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 26, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled work for US 27. Lane closures will be necessary for high friction surface treatment to be applied.
High friction surface treatments (HFST) are pavement safety applications which assist to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities. The application is especially important during wet roadway conditions.
Monday, Sept. 29 through Tuesday, Sept. 30 – 6 p.m. evenings until 7 a.m. the following mornings (times are approximate)
US 27 – North and Southbound
- work will be located between milepoints 10.0 and 11.5
- operations will be in effect beginning 1.0 mile north of Keene Road/KY 169 extending to Baker Lane
- alternating lane closures will be in place --- motorists will be able to pass through the work zone
All work and/or closures are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
