Madison Central Homecoming Parade in Downtown Richmond
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of traffic changes scheduled for Richmond, Madison County. Temporary adjustments will be necessary for the Madison Central High School Homecoming Parade happening in downtown Richmond on September 25th, 2025. The Richmond Police Department and Eastern Kentucky University Police will be assisting with traffic.
Thursday, Sept. 25 – Madison Central’s Homecoming Parade
Note: the sections below will be closed from 5:30 p.m. until approximately 9:00 p.m.
- North Second Street (city route) from Madison Central High School to Moberly Avenue (city route)
- Moberly Avenue from North Second Street to North Third Street (city routes)
- North Third Street from Moberly Avenue to West Irvine Street (city routes)
- West Irvine Street from North Third Street to Church Street (city routes)
- Church Street from West Irvine Street to Main Street/US 25X (MP 1.510)
- Main Street/US 25X (MP 1.510) from Lancaster Avenue/KY 52 (MP 1.780) to North Collins Street (city route)
Motorists should expect and plan for delays --- heavy traffic is expected.
All work and/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
