Traffic Advisory: Rolling Roadblock on Southbound I-75/I-64 at Lexington Tonight
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 10, 2025) – Construction on the Interstate 75 widening project in Lexington will require a short-term rolling roadblock tonight, Thursday, Sept. 10, for continued work on the new Paris Pike bridge deck extension.
From about 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight, contractors will conduct a rolling roadblock on I-75/I-64 southbound lanes between Exit 115 and Exit 113. Southbound interstate traffic will be slowed, and motorists should expect delays. Northbound traffic will not be affected.
Wednesday, Sept. 10, weather permitting:
- At 7 p.m., a rolling roadblock will begin on I-64/I-75 southbound between Exits 115 and 113.
- The roadblock will conclude by 8:30 p.m.
- Delays are possible; please plan accordingly.
The work is part of the I-75 widening project. When complete in 2026, this project will reduce congestion and improve safety throughout the 2-mile corridor from the Paris Pike exit to the I-64/I-75 Southern Split. It is the second of two projects to widen I-64/I-75 to four lanes each direction in Fayette County. Find more information online at DrivingLexingtonProgress.org.
All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
