Thermoplastic Intersection Marking Operations Scheduled This Week for Fayette and Scott Counties

Work starts today, Aug. 12, and continues through Aug. 15

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 12, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that thermoplastic marking operations are scheduled for Fayette and Scott Counties. Markings include stop bars, crosswalks and arrows. The markings improve reflectivity, and visibility which enhance safety.

Work starts today, Tuesday, Aug. 12, in both Fayette and Scott Counties, and continues through Friday, Aug. 15. Work will take place from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day, and flaggers will be onsite to guide and direct traffic. Motorists can pass through the work zones.

Fayette County

  • U.S. 27/U.S. 68 (Paris Pike) near Kingston Rd to the Fayette-Bourbon County line (milepoints 10.4 - 16.0)

Scott County

  • U.S. 25, beginning at Lusby Path and going to Pocahontas Trail (milepoints 2.25 - 3.0)
  • U.S. 460 at E. Washington (milepoint 10.2)
  • U.S. 62 (Paynes Depot), beginning at Morgan Mill Rd. and going to Darby Lane (milepoints 10.9 - 11.1)
  • KY 620 at Sims Pike Railroad (milepoint 19)

All work and/or closures are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
