Traffic Advisory: Traffic Shifts on U.S. 60 in Boyd County on Saturday
Expect daytime one-lane flagged traffic; I-64 west ramp closures
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Aug. 8, 2025) – A traffic lane shift will begin tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 9, on U.S. 60 in Boyd County from the Boyd/Carter line (milepoint 0) to Addington Drive (milepoint 1.2). This shift will move traffic onto new blacktop through this area for the last phase of the U.S. 60 widening project.
On Saturday, from 4 a.m. to about 4 p.m., motorists should watch for periods of one-lane traffic controlled by flaggers until the lane shift can be completed. Electronic message boards and signs will be in place to note changes.
The work will also require temporary closure of the on ramps from U.S. 60 to westbound I-64 on Saturday, from 4 a.m. until noon, or until traffic is switched. Traffic on KY 966 should expect delays as well.
Road work schedules may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
