Newtown Pike (KY 922) Temporary Paint Touch Up Tuesday, August 5

LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 4, 2025) – Construction for the Newtown Pike (KY 922) Widening project in Lexington will require paint striping to touch up existing white edge lines and white center lines from I-75 to New Circle Road (KY 4). Work will begin on Tuesday, August 5, at 10 a.m. and will be completed that afternoon at 2 p.m.

Beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, paint striping will be done on existing white edge lines and white center lines throughout the construction zone, from I-75 to New Circle Road (KY 4) in both directions. The work will be completed that afternoon at 2 p.m.

  • At 10 a.m., paint striping will be done on existing white edge lines and white center lines throughout the construction zone, from I-75 to New Circle Road (KY 4).
  • The paint striping will be completed the same afternoon, at 2 p.m.
  • Drivers should exercise caution and stay vigilant for workers near the roadway.

This work is part of the Newtown Pike (KY 922) widening project. When complete in 2027, this project will add a lane in each direction on Newtown Pike (KY 922) from New Circle Road (KY 4) to I-75, improving safety and traffic flow by increasing capacity to handle current and future traffic volumes.  It will also provide improvements to Legacy Trail. All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
