IDOT: Daytime Closures Scheduled for U.S. 60/62 Mississippi River Bridge at Cairo Starting Aug. 11
Annual safety inspection will last approx. 10 days
PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 4, 2025) – The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced the U.S. 60/62 bridge over the Mississippi River at Cairo, Ill., will be closed during daytime hours for an annual safety inspection starting Monday, Aug. 11.
The bridge, which connects Alexander County, Ill., with Mississippi County, Mo., will be closed daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 11, through Friday, Aug. 15, and again from Monday, Aug. 18, through Friday, Aug. 22. Closure dates are weather permitting.
Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternate routes during the closure times.
