Mobile Work Caravan Planned on I-69 in Marshall and Graves Counties Starting Saturday, Aug. 2

Traffic paint striping operation expected to last 6 days

PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 1, 2025) A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will begin roadway paint striping on Interstate 69 in Marshall and Graves counties starting Saturday, Aug. 2.

This project will refresh faded markings and enhance safety for motorists along I-69, covering the stretch from mile point 52.3 in Marshall County to mile point 20.4 in Graves County, or between Exit 51 and just south of Exit 21.

The mobile work caravan will begin in Marshall County and will be active during daylight hours.

The work will also include striping on interstate ramps, including ramps at I-69 Exit 51 and I-24 Exit 25 near Calvert City.

Work is expected to continue for approximately six days, weather permitting.

There will be no lane closures or flaggers, as the mobile crew will be continuously moving along the roadway.

The mobile caravan consists of a lead vehicle with sweeping capabilities, a striping truck, and support vehicles to warn motorists of the mobile work zone and possible wet paint ahead.

Use caution when approaching or passing the slow-moving caravan. Although traffic paint is designed to dry quickly, motorists should avoid driving over freshly painted lines. Drying time depends on humidity and wind conditions but typically takes about four minutes.
