Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch work, litter pick up, brush clearing, culvert repairs and additional work by our KYTC maintenance crews may occur on major interstates/state routes during non-peak daytime hours and at night.
Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance on interstates/highways throughout the district DAILY. We will send out information to the public if these tasks require significant impacts to traffic.

Bristow Road (KY 1303) Closure Extended to Friday, Aug. 8
A closure has been in place since Sunday, June 15, on Bristow Road (KY 1303) (0.0 - 0.55) from south of Timber Lane to the intersection of KY 536 and KY 1303. Behind the closure crews have been constructing a roundabout at the intersection as part of the on-going widening and improvement project on KY 536.
The closure was originally expect to be in place through Friday, Aug. 1.
Due to utility coordination, the reopening of this portion of Bristow Road (KY 1303) has been pushed back to Friday, Aug. 8.

Through traffic on KY 536 has been maintained. Local traffic has been maintained on KY 1303 from Richardson Road to Timber Lane.
A detour is in place using KY 536 to Dixie Highway to Industrial Road.
NOTE: the bridge east of Dixie Highway on Richardson Road currently has a weight limit of three tons. Any vehicles weighing more than three tons should use Industrial Road as a detour.

KENTON AND CAMPBELL COUNTIES
Monday, July 28 — Friday, Aug. 1: Electrical work on Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) will occur daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A single lane closure in each direction will be utilized between Lookout Farm Drive and Carran Drive during working hours.

A preventive maintenance project began on Tuesday, June 24, on multiple routes in Kenton and Campbell counties.
The project includes crack sealing, electrical work and application of a thin asphalt overlay known as a thinlay. Thinlays are used as a pavement preservation treatment to restore surface conditions and extend the service life of roads that are still structurally sound.
Crack sealing operations are complete. The sealed areas will require a 30-day curing period before paving can begin. Pavement work is tentatively scheduled to begin in late July.

Entrance to Cherry Tree Lane from Donaldson Highway (KY 236) – A temporary closure of the entrance to Cherry Tree Lane from Donaldson Highway (KY 236) will begin on Saturday, July 26.
This closure will allow crews to perform stabilization work associated with the Donaldson Highway widening project.
The Cherry Tree Lane entrance closure will be in place beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 26. The road will reopen to traffic by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1.
Access to Cherry Tree Lane will be available from Rodeo Drive and Houston Road.

Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) – 8.8 mile point – Duke Energy is performing utility work on a portion of Dixie Highway. Work is taking place near the Northern Kentucky Water District water tower, between Empire Drive and the intersection of Dixie Highway/Weaver/Richardson Road.
A single lane closure will be in place daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with flaggers on-site to direct traffic through the work zone.
Weather permitting, this permit project is expected to be completed by late September.

North Bend Road (KY 237) – 9.56 – 9.98 mile points – Various traffic impacts for construction work on North Bend Road in Hebron related to a new commercial development in the area.
Crews are working near First Financial Bank, between Coral Drive and Limaburg Road. The project includes installation of a dedicated turn lane, entrance reconstruction, storm sewer improvements, paving and permanent striping.
Lane closures will occur as needed during daytime working hours, with flaggers on-site to direct traffic through the work zone.
Weather permitting, this permit project is expected to be completed by late September.

Petersburg Road (KY 20) – 13.8 – 14.6 mile points – A gas main installation project on a portion of Petersburg Road is in progress.
Work is taking place between the intersection of Bullittsville Road/Petersburg Road/Graves Road (mile point 14.6) and Peel Road (mile point 13.8).
A single lane closure will be utilized as needed during daytime working hours, with flaggers on site to direct traffic through the work zone.
Weather permitting, this permit project is expected to be completed by late August.

Various Areas on I-71 and I-75 – Various evening/overnight traffic impacts will take place beginning Sunday, July 27 as part of a maintenance project. Crews will perform brush clearing and pothole patching to improve sight distance and safety. All work will take place between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. All lanes/ramps will reopen daily by 5 a.m.

- The ramp from I-75 northbound to I-71 southbound (77.43 - 76.39 mile points) will be blocked for brush clearing.

Monday, July 28
- The ramp from I-75 northbound to I-71 southbound will be blocked for brush clearing.
- Various lane closures on I-75 southbound from the Walton interchange (171.71 mile point) to the Boone/Kenton County line (169.45 mile point), a distance of 2.26 miles.

Tuesday, July 29
- The ramp from I-75 northbound to I-71 southbound will be blocked for brush clearing.
- Various lane closures on I-71/75 northbound from Mt. Zion Road (178 mile marker) to U.S. 42 (180 mile marker), a distance of 2.0 miles.

Wednesday, July 30
- The ramp from I-71 northbound to I-75 southbound (0.0 - 0.39 mile points) will be blocked for brush clearing
- Various lane closures on I-71/75 northbound from Mt. Zion Road to U.S. 42.

Thursday, July 31
- The ramp from I-71 northbound to I-75 southbound will be blocked for brush clearing.
- Various lane closures on I-71/75 southbound from U.S. 42 (180 mile marker) to Mt. Zion Road (178 mile marker), a distance of 2.0 miles.
Motorists can detour around the ramp closures by utilizing the Richwood Road (KY 338) exit interchange:
- Detour for I-75 northbound to I-71 southbound ramp closure: I-71/75 northbound to Richwood Road (KY 338), to I-71/75 southbound, to I-71 southbound ramp.
- Detour for I-71 northbound to I-75 southbound ramp closure: I-71 northbound to I-75 northbound ramp, to Richwood Road, to I-71/75 southbound.
Weather permitting, this series of maintenance projects is expected to be completed by Friday, Aug. 1 at 5 a.m. KYTC will advise on social media if additional nights of work are needed for this project.

Brooksville Chatham Road (KY 19) – 8.55 – 10.66 mile point – A resurfacing project on Brooksville Chatham Road (KY 19) from KY 10 extending north to the southern end of the Locust Creek bridge will begin on Monday, July 28.
Single lane closures will be in place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic through the work zone.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late August.

Santa Fe Road (KY 536) – 0.01 mile point – Bridge deck restoration and waterproofing work on the Santa Fe Road bridge over the Licking River is in progress.
The structure is currently closed to accommodate the work. A signed detour is in place, directing motorists along KY 19 and KY 2897 to bypass the closure. Weather permitting, the Santa Fe Road bridge is expected to reopen next week, following final asphalt work. We will provide an update once a date is finalized.

Mary Ingles Highway (KY 8) – 7.07 mile point – Bridge deck restoration and waterproofing work is scheduled to begin on the Mary Ingles Highway bridge over Locust Creek beginning the week of July 27.
Work will require a 24/7 single lane closure, with temporary traffic signals installed to guide traffic. Crews will shift traffic to the opposite lane once the first half of the bridge is complete.
Weather permitting, the overall project has an expected completion date of late August.

Mt. Zion Road/Bristow Road (KY 536) – 0.96 – 2.5 mile points – Sunday, July 27 – Thursday, July 31: Storm sewer work will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Hogrefe Road and the bridge near Falcon Ridge Drive. Flaggers will be on-site to maintain traffic during these hours.
This work is part of the on-going KY 536 widening and safety improvement project. You can find more information regarding these projects here.

Fowler Creek Road (KY 1486) – 3.28 – 4.44 mile points – A resurfacing project on Fowler Creek Road between the Fowler Creek Road Connector (KY 1486C) and Madison Pike (KY 3035) is in progress. Base failure repairs and milling/paving operations are now complete. Radar installation is the final task of the project.

Fourth Street/Fifth Street/Highway Avenue (KY 8) – A resurfacing and roadway reconfiguration project on KY 8 is now complete.

Clay Wade Bailey Bridge (U.S. 25, U.S. 42, U.S. 127) – 13.45 – 13.87 mile points – A routine maintenace project on the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge is now complete.
