PADUCAH, Ky. (July 18, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a daytime work zone along KY 1420 in McCracken County starting today, Friday, July 18, weather permitting.
Milling and paving work will take place along KY 1420 between KY 996/Metropolis Lake Road and Bobo Road, or mile points 0 to 2. The project area includes intersections with Heady Road, Tucker Road, Mayfield Metropolis Road and Metropolis Ferry Landing Road.
Motorists should be alert for signage and flaggers in the work zone, particularly since this section of KY 1420 has many curves.
When milling and paving take place at the railroad tunnel near Metropolis Ferry Landing Road, it will be temporarily closed for approximately two hours.
