KY 56 Project Starting this Week in McLean County
Project will reconstruct a portion of the existing roadway
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (July 9, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet began mobilizing this week on a project to reconstruct a portion of KY 56 in McLean County near its intersection with KY 1233.
This project will widen the roadway and correct line of sight issues with two hills located near the existing intersection.
Initially crews will be excavating a new roadway along the eastern side of KY 56. Work should have limited impact on traffic, but motorists should be aware that trucks and equipment are working near the roadway and may enter the roadway at points. Lane restrictions with flaggers will be utilized only when necessary.
Once the roadway is constructed, traffic will be shifted onto the new road, while crews begin removing the old roadway and finish the new intersection with KY 1233.
The project is slated to be completed by mid-November.
