ROADSHOW Week of July 6, 2025
Here, you'll find all of the NEW projects, maintenance, and other work taking place in our 11 county district:
Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson Counties

Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch work, litter pick up, brush clearing, culvert repairs and additional work by our KYTC maintenance crews may occur on major interstates/state routes during non-peak daytime hours and at night.
Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance on interstates/highways throughout the district DAILY. We will send out information to the public if these tasks require significant impacts to traffic.

Clay Wade Bailey Bridge is NOW OPEN!
The Clay Wade Bailey Bridge (U.S. 25, U.S. 42, U.S. 127) (mile points 13.45 - 13.87) is NOW OPEN following an extended closure to replace three modular joints and perform other steel repairs! The bridge reopened to traffic around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2. A single lane closure is currently in place to finish up some repair work, but one lane is now open in each direction. The lane closure is expected to remain in place until mid-July.

Donaldson Highway (KY 236) 0.0 – 1.6 mile points – A widening and safety improvement project on KY 236 (Donaldson Highway) between KY 842 (Houston Road) and KY 3076 (Mineola Pike) is in progress.
The closure of the entrances from Donaldson Highway (KY 236) to South Airfield Drive, Cherry Tree Lane and Queensway Drive is now complete. The entrances reopened on Monday, June 30, as scheduled.

Verona Mudlick Road (KY 14) – 2.18 mile point – A bridge maintenance project will begin on Monday, July 7, on the Verona Mudlick Road overpass over I-71. This is located at the Verona exit (Exit 72).
KYTC crews will be on-site Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with temporary signals in place throughout the project area.
Motorists should watch for lane closures, equipment and trucks entering/leaving the project area.
Weather permitting, this project is expected to be completed Friday, July 25.

U.S. 42 – 0.17 – 3.33 mile point – A resurfacing project on U.S. 42 beginning near Nucor Steel extending east to the north ramps of KY 1039 is in progress.
Base failure repairs are now complete. Milling and paving operations have been rescheduled to begin the week of July 28.

- Gardnersville Road (KY 491) – 3.98 – 5.42 mile point – A resurfacing project on Gardnersville Road from U.S. 25 to North Folk Drive is now complete.

Keefer Road (KY 2936) – 0.0 – 3.69 mile point – A resurfacing project on Keefer Road from Keefer Lawrenceville Road to U.S. 25 is in progress.
Base failure repairs are now complete. Milling/paving operations are now in progress.

Taft Highway (KY 22) – 0.0 – 5.67 mile point – A resurfacing project on Taft Highway (KY 22) beginning at the Grant/Owen County line extending to just west of Jonesville Road (KY 36) is in progress.
Base failure repairs are now complete. Weather permitting, milling and paving operations are expected to begin the week of July 6.

Interstate 75 – 157.7 – 162.7 mile points – A resurfacing project on a five-mile stretch of I-75, from just south of Dry Ridge to just north of the Sherman Mt Zion Road (KY 1994) overpass is in progress.
Work will include pavement repairs and resurfacing, drainage and erosion control improvements, guardrail updates, bridge maintenance and cross slope corrections.
Resurfacing work for the on/off ramps at Exit 159 to KY 22 in Dry Ridge is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 7.
Crews will begin by resurfacing the southbound on/off ramps and shoulders on Monday, July 7 and Tuesday, July 8, followed by the northbound ramps and shoulders on Wednesday, July 9 and Thursday, July 10.
All work is scheduled to occur nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Interstate traffic will be reduced to one lane during these hours.
Ramp access will be maintained at partial width, but short, temporary closures may occur to safely complete paving work along the shoulders.
Once ramp resurfacing is complete, lane closures will continue to allow crews to continue milling/paving and shoulder work in the area:
I-75 northbound: crews are milling/paving the right lane, shoulder and center lane. During this phase, northbound traffic has been shifted to the left lane and shoulder, with two lanes remaining open.
I-75 southbound: crews are milling/paving and performing shoulder work behind a right lane/shoulder closure. Traffic has been shifted to the left and center lanes.

- Main Street/Pike Street (U.S. 25) – 12.75 – 13.45 mile points – A resurfacing project on Pike Street/Main Street from east of Simon Kenton Way to Fourth Street (KY 8) is now complete.

Butler-Greenwood Road (KY 3185) – 1.023 mile point – A slide repair project on Butler-Greenwood Road is now complete.
