Transportation Cabinet to Hold Public Meeting Sessions July 17 for Northwest Louisville Community Connectivity Study
Public invited to review and comment on potential improvement concepts
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 2, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will hold two public meeting sessions on Thursday, July 17, to inform residents and gather input on the Northwest Louisville Community Connectivity Study. This study has identified potential concepts to improve connections between Northwest Louisville neighborhoods south of Interstate 64 and areas adjacent to the Ohio River.
Two public meeting sessions will occur from 12-2 p.m. and from 5-7 p.m., at the Molly Leonard Portland Community Center, 640 N. 27th Street, Louisville, KY 40212. Those interested may drop in at any time to learn about the study and to provide feedback to the project team.
The existing highway network (I-64), railroad lines, flood walls, levees, and other infrastructure currently limit direct access to the riverfront. The study has identified possible options to improve multimodal connectivity, safety, and accessibility that could mitigate or minimize the impact of these barriers.
Following the public meeting, an online survey will be available. Additional information regarding the study can be found online. Input received from the survey efforts will be compiled and considered as the final design phase is underway.
All responses will become part of the official meeting record. Once compiled, all supporting documentation will be made available for review and copying only after an Open Records Request has been received and approved. All Open Records Requests must be submitted to the Transportation Cabinet, Office of Legal Services, Transportation Office Building, 200 Metro St, Frankfort, KY 40622, or via kytc.openrecords@ky.gov.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), anyone with a disability requiring assistance is asked to contact (502) 764-0481 no later than Friday, July 11. Additionally, in compliance with Title VI, translation services are also offered upon request.
