Lane Restriction Planned on U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge at Ledbetter Starting on Tuesday, July 8

Inspection will begin at 8 a.m. each day for approx. 3 days

PADUCAH, Ky. (June 30, 2025)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is planning a daytime lane restriction on the U.S. 60 Tennessee River “Ledbetter” Bridge starting on Tuesday, July 8.

Crews will be using an under-bridge inspection vehicle (UBIV) to inspect the bridge starting at 8 a.m. each day for approximately three days.

During this time, a team of climbers will also be conducting a hands-on inspection of the bridge.

Motorists should be alert for signage, flaggers and trucks with arrow boards guiding traffic to shift into the open lane, as work will alternate from one side of the bridge to the other.

Lane restrictions are expected to be lifted by Thursday, July 10 at about 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Use caution where workers and equipment are along the roadway near traffic flow.

The U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge, also known as the Ledbetter Bridge, carries approximately 6,500 vehicles per day between McCracken and Livingston counties.

The bridge is located at U.S. 60 McCracken County mile point 20.45, and U.S. 60 Livingston County mile point 0.0.

Following the completion of this inspection, the team will move to the U.S. 60 Cumberland River "Smithland" Bridge on about Friday, July 11.
