Daytime Closure and Delays on KY 1469 in Pike County for Flood-Related Repairs
Project Resumes Thursday, June 19, Weather Permitting
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (May 06, 2025) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 advises the public that work will resume on KY 1469 (Right Fork of Long Fork Road) beginning Thursday, June 19, weather permitting. The project had previously been on hold due to equipment and weather-related delays.
KY 1469 will be closed daily to through traffic between mile points 3.0 and 4.2 as crews continue flood-related road and embankment repairs.
Because KY 1469 is a one-lane road, normal traffic flow cannot be maintained during drilling operations. Once drilling operations are complete, motorists should then expect traffic holds of 15–20 minutes during cribbing and backfill activities.
Work hours will remain Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. With favorable weather, the repairs are expected to take 2 to 3 weeks to complete.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, watch for crews and equipment, obey all posted signage, and use extra caution in the work zone. KYTC appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as we work to restore and improve this roadway for safer travel
