Asphalt Resurfacing Project on KY 54 in Daviess County Starting on Monday
Work is scheduled to last three days
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (June 6, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to begin an asphalt resurfacing project on KY 54 in Daviess County next week which will see almost four miles of roadway repaired, beginning on the east side of Owensboro.
This project, which is not part of the ongoing KY 54 widening project, will run from the end of the current work zone, near Bold Forbes Way (3.8 mm) in Owensboro, to KY 142 (7.5 mm) in Philpot.
Due to deterioration of the asphalt through this corridor, crews will be sealing cracks in the pavement and applying a thin layer of asphalt to the roadway.
This will be a mobile operation, so motorists should look for work zone signs and flaggers as they move through this area. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, June 9 and be concluded by Wednesday, June 10. Crews will work from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
