KY 408/Eggners Ferry Road to reopen approx. June 10
PADUCAH, Ky. (June 6, 2025) – The KY 402/Aurora Highway Clarks River Bridge in Marshall County will be closed to traffic on Monday morning, June 9 as a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) prepares for construction of a new bridge.
The KY 402 bridge replacement project was postponed until the completion of the KY 408/Eggners Ferry Road bridges along the Clarks River Wildlife Refuge.
Weather permitting, KY 408/Eggners Ferry Road is set to reopen by late Tuesday, June 10, which will allow the contractor to move equipment to the KY 402 project site.
The new structure, located at mile point 9.9 on KY 402, represents a $7.7 million investment. In addition to building new approach sections, the project includes repairs and restoration of the existing 1933 truss bridge to preserve its historic character.
The estimated project completion date is around the end of July 2026. There will be no marked detour during the closure.
