TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Construction to Replace KY 1665 Bridge Over South Benson Creek Beginning Wednesday, June 4, in Franklin County
Complete closure of the KY 1665 bridge through August
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 2 , 2025) – The KY 1665 (Bridgeport-Benson Road) bridge over South Benson Creek at mile point 3.93 in Franklin County will close on Wednesday, June 4, for a bridge replacement project.
The project includes demolishing the existing bridge and constructing a replacement bridge. Construction will require the complete closure of the existing bridge through August 3, 2025. Motorists should follow the suggested detour of taking U.S. 60 (Louisville Road) to U.S. 127, then taking KY 1005 (Devils Hollow Road) to rejoin KY 1665 (Bridgeport-Benson Road).
Central Bridge Company, LLC., is completing the work under a $5.4 million contract, including replacing the KY 12 (Flat Creek Road) bridge over Flat Creek in Franklin County at mile point 12.46. Construction on the KY 12 (Flat Creek Road) bridge began today and will not affect traffic during the project. The KY 12 (Flat Creek Road) bridge replacement is scheduled for completion by December 2025.
Motorists should obey restrictions, follow the signed detour and plan ahead when traveling.
