Traffic Advisory: Work Set to Begin on Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County
Lane closures and a reduced speed limit are in effect
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (June 1, 2025) – Preparation begins this week for an asphalt resurfacing project along an 11-mile stretch of Bluegrass Parkway which extends from Mile Markers 24-35 (roughly the US 150 Bardstown Exit to the KY 55 Exit). Traffic will be reduced to one lane in various configurations throughout the duration of the project. Work will begin with setting barrier wall at bridge locations along the stretch. Median preparations and inside lane milling and paving will take place first, followed by outside lanes.
Motorists are urged to use additional caution and minimize distractions upon approaching the work zone. The speed limit is reduced through the project area. Slow down and pay close attention to lane closure and speed limit signs.
The project contract specifies for work to be complete by November 1st.
