Double Lane Closure on I-71/75 Northbound at Brent Spence Bridge for Emergency Sign Removal

Closure will be in place for one hour beginning at 4 p.m.

COVINGTON, Ky. (May 23, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of an emergency sign removal on the Brent Spence Bridge in Kenton County.

A portion of an overhead highway sign on the bridge was clipped, and needs to be removed for the safety of motorists. This work will require a double right lane closure on Interstate 71/75 northbound between Pike Street (U.S. 25) (190.6 mile point) and the Kentucky/Ohio state line (191.6) mile point), a distance of 1.0 miles.

The double lane and ramp closure is expected to be in place between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Motorists will be able to get by using the left two lanes of traffic.

DETOUR: Motorists are encouraged to use I-275 to I-471, or find an alternate route.

We will provide an update once the sign removal has been completed on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
