Resurfacing Projects on Pooles Creek Road (KY 1998) and Martha Lane Collins Boulevard (KY 2345) in Campbell County to Begin Next Week
Expect single lane closures during working hours
COVINGTON, Ky. (May 16, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of two upcoming resurfacing projects in Campbell County scheduled to begin next week.
Crews will be resurfacing the following routes:
- Pooles Creek Road (KY 1998) between AA Highway (KY 9) (mile point 0.0) and Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) (mile point 1.73), a distance of 1.73 miles.
- A portion of Martha Lane Collins Boulevard (KY 2345) beginning at Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) (mile point 0.0) extending north to Johns Hill Road (KY 3490) (mile point 0.59), a distance of 0.59 miles.
Weather permitting, base failure repairs on Martha Lane Collins Boulevard will begin Thursday, May 22. This initial phase is expected to take approximately two working days and will occur during daytime hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
After the base repairs have cured, milling and paving operations will follow. To minimize impacts on traffic, this work will take place during overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Weather permitting, milling and paving on Martha Lane Collins Boulevard is expected to occur in early to mid-June.
Once paving is complete on Martha Lane Collins Boulevard, crews will shift operations to Pooles Creek Road. Milling and paving work on this route will be performed during daytime hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
During working hours, a single lane closure will be in place with flaggers on-site to direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists should plan ahead and expect delays, particularly during peak travel hours.
Please be aware that rain is in the forecast for next week, which may impact the project timeline. All scheduled work may be adjusted as needed to accommodate weather conditions. We will provide project updates on our District 6 Roadshow.
Mago Construction Company LLC, is contracted to perform the $421,989 project on behalf of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The project is expected to be completed by June 30, 2025.
