Resurfacing Project on Turkeyfoot Road (KY 1303) in Kenton County Beginning Tuesday, May 6

Crews will work between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

COVINGTON, Ky. (May 2, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of an upcoming resurfacing project on Turkeyfoot Road (KY 1303) in Kenton County beginning Tuesday, May 6.

The resurfacing project will take place on Turkeyfoot Road between Dudley Road (4.97 mile point) and Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) (6.25 mile point), a distance of 1.28 miles. Work is expected to take place between the evening/overnight hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. This work is being performed overnight to mitigate traffic disruptions on a busy corridor.

Beginning Tuesday, May 6, crews will be making repairs to traffic count stations in the project area. This work is expected to take three nights. Motorists should expect a single lane closure in the project area.

Base failure, milling and paving operations have not yet been scheduled. KYTC will provide an update on social media once these operations are scheduled. Once scheduled, motorists should expect various single lane closures throughout the project area during working hours. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times.

Additionally, a new traffic controller cabinet and radar detection system will be installed at signalized intersections located within the project area. These improvements will improve traffic congestion throughout the corridor.

Our Kenton County and Boone County KYTC maintenance crews are actively working on a drainage/ditching project on the section of Turkeyfoot Road north of I-275. This project will improve safety by providing better water runoff during weather events. This separate maintenance project is expected to be completed Monday, May 12.

Riegler Blacktop Inc. is contracted to perform the $599,689 project on behalf of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The project is expected to be completed by June 30, 2025.

Project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
