A Section of Hal Rogers Parkway in Laurel County will be Closed Starting Thursday, May 1 at 9 p.m.

MANCHESTER, Ky. (April 28, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that Hal Rogers Parkway at mile point 1.618 will be closed to through traffic on Thursday, May 1 at 9 p.m. and is expected reopen Friday, May 2, at 6 a.m.

To accomplish the closure, the roadway will be blocked at the intersections with KY 30 and with KY 638. Through traffic will not be allowed through these intersections.

The need for closure is to allow for demolition of the Slate Lick Road overpass bridge. This is part of the Hal Rogers Parkway widening project.

KYTC asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect significant delays, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can access travel and traffic conditions at http://goky.ky.gov or contribute their reports at www.waze.com or via the Waze mobile application.
