Commercial Truck Detour Established for U.S. 431 in Muhlenberg County
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (April 22, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is advising commercial truck drivers of a new detour for U.S. 431 in Muhlenberg County.
KYTC crews are making repairs to the road where it was damaged and closed by an active embankment slide earlier this month, which will require commercial truck drivers to use the detour to avoid other routes not suitable for their weight.
Northbound and southbound drivers should use KY 176, KY 181, U.S. 68, and U.S. 79 between Drakesboro and Russellville to bypass U.S. 431.
To protect traffic, U.S. 431 remains closed around milepoint 5 near Union Ridge Road and Myer’s Chapel Road south of Belton. The detour will be in effect through mid-May, or until repairs are complete.
