District 1 Roadshow: Traffic Impact Report for April 13-19
PADUCAH, Ky. (Apr. 11, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet anticipates ongoing work zone construction and long-term maintenance activities at the following locations will impact traffic in District 1 counties:
Ballard County U.S. 60 has a reduced speed limit of 35 mph between Stafford Road (13.648 MP) in Ballard County and Bethel Church Road (0.385 MP) in McCracken County. This is for ongoing work near the new section of U.S. 60 being constructed around Kevil.
The intersection of U.S. 60/Kentucky Drive and KY 358/Bluegrass Drive in La Center will be a flashing four-way stop. Intersecting roadways are KY 358/Bluegrass Drive and Olive Street. Started on March 31. Estimated duration is unknown.
Calloway County A temporary diversion road is in place at the 10.843 MP on KY 121 South, southeast of Murray, around the construction of a new bridge over Clayton Creek. Reduced speed limit of 45 mph. Estimate for completion around mid-September, weather permitting.
KY 1346/Roosevelt Road is closed at the 4.08 MP at a bridge near Jeffrey Cemetery Lane, east of Dexter. Currently under construction. Estimate for completion around the end of May, weather permitting.
Crittenden County KY 387/Dam 50 Road is closed at the 0.77 MP for construction of a new Crooked Creek Bridge. This closure will block access to KY 91 for most residents along a 3-mile section of KY 387. Started March 31. Estimate for completion is 120 working days.
Fulton County KY 94/E. Carroll Street is closed due to a slide near the 12.7 MP, between Kentucky Street and Cumberland Street, in the city of Hickman. This first occurred on Feb. 16 during a flash flooding event. Awaiting survey on continuing slide movement.
KY 1129 is closed between the 7.47 and 7.917 MP due to closure of three bridges, Sampson Branch Bridge, Brush Creek Bridge and Sublett Creek Bridge. Currently under construction. Estimate for completion around the end of May, weather permitting.
KY 1128 is closed at the 6.37 MP due to the closure of a bridge over Mud Creek. This section of KY 1128 is located between KY 1127 and KY 1212. Estimate for completion by the end of the year.
KY 1907/Swamp Root Road is closed at the 1.727 MP at the Little Bayou de Chien Bridge. KY 1907 connects KY 94 and KY 781 northeast of the Cayce community. Estimate for completion by the end of the year.
KY 2140 is closed at the 3.767 MP due to the closure of a bridge over Mud Creek. This section of KY 2140 is located between KY 94 and KY 1129. Estimate for completion by the end of the year.
KY 1282 is closed at the 4.741 MP at the Owens Slough Bridge. This is between KY 311 and KY 925 near the intersection of Joe Parker Road. Estimate for completion by the end of the year.
Graves County Beech Grove Road is closed at the 2.8 MP at the Mayfield Creek Bridge, about halfway between Antioch Church Road and Barnetts Chapel Road. It was in the February letting and the project was awarded. Demolition of the old bridge will begin in late spring. Estimated completion date is around mid-August.
KY 1485/Bellville Road is closed at the 2 MP at the Terrapin Creek Bridge about two miles north of the KY-TN State Line. This bridge is scheduled to be replaced. The project was in the March 2025 letting. Update coming soon.
KY 1748 is closed at the 0.12 MP at the Obion Creek Bridge. This section of KY 1748 is located between KY 339 and Oldham Lane, east of Wingo. Estimate for completion by the end of the year.
Hickman County The intersection of U.S. 51 and KY 58 in Clinton will be a flashing four-way stop as part of a 90-day traffic study. Intersecting roadways are KY 58/W. Clay Street and KY 123/E. Clay Street. Estimated completion date is around mid-June.
KY 780 is closed at the 3.818 MP at the Bayou de Chien Bridge. This is between U.S. 51 and Martin Road. Construction is expected to begin in late spring, with anticipated completion by mid-year.
Livingston County KY 453/Iuka Road is closed at the 11.5 MP due to a collapsed box culvert. This is located southeast of Smithland between KY 937/Cutoff Road and Cothron Road. The roadway is expected to reopen on Monday, April 14.
Lyon County KY 295 is closed at the 9.419 MP at the Livingston Creek Bridge at the Crittenden-Lyon County Line. It was in the February letting and the project was awarded. Demolition of the old bridge will begin in April, weather permitting. Estimated completion date is around the end of August.
Marshall County KY 58/Brewers Highway is closed at the 1.3 MP due to damage to pavement caused by a slide. This occurred on Feb. 16 during a flash flooding event. This bridge will be replaced. The project is scheduled for the August 2025 letting.
KY 408/Eggners Ferry Road is closed between the 8.5 and 10.2 MP immediately east of Benton due to closure of four bridges along the Clarks River Wildlife Refuge. Currently under construction. Estimate for completion around the end of May, weather permitting.
McCracken County Lane restrictions are in effect on the Interstate 24 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah and Metropolis until October 14. One lane in each direction. Concrete barriers will be installed across the length of the bridge with a 10-foot, 6-inch width restriction. Enhanced law enforcement presence and reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zone.
U.S. 60 has a reduced speed limit of 35 mph between Bethel Church Road (0.385 MP) in McCracken County and Stafford Road (13.648 MP) in Ballard County. This is for ongoing work near the new section of U.S. 60 being constructed around Kevil.
KY 358/Ogden Landing Road is closed at the 1.1 MP at the Redstone Branch Bridge, west of the Ragland community. Construction is expected to begin the week of May 1. Estimate for completion by the end of May, weather permitting.
Nighttime lane restrictions (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) will be in place along Interstate 24 from Exit 16 to the I-24 Ohio River Bridge starting April 13. Crews will be working in three-mile sections to seal cracks in the asphalt pavement. The work zone has a reduced speed limit of 55 mph.
