ALERT: U.S. 431 Closed at Tunnel Hill in Muhlenberg County

Due to damage from active embankment slide

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (April 5, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has closed part of U.S. 431 at Tunnel Hill in Muhlenberg County due to significant roadway damage from an active embankment slide.

To protect traffic, U.S. 431 will remain closed around milepoint 5 near Union Ridge Road and Myer’s Chapel Road south of Belton until further notice as the slide is actively moving. State highway crews are working to establish a signed detour route. Until the detour is announced, motorists should seek alternate routes.

The roadway serves about 2,600 vehicles per day in southern Muhlenberg County, connecting Cenral City and Drakesboro to Lewisburg and Russellville in Logan County.
