High Water Report for April 5, 2025 at 10:00 A.M.

Latest updates regarding weather related closures

Flemingsburg, Ky. (April 5, 2025) – High water is impacting numerous roads in KYTC District 9. These roads remain blocked due to flooding or mudslides. New roads will be added to the closure list as updates are available.

High water remains possible even for roads not listed. Drivers are urged to check GoKY for traffic conditions before traveling. Never drive through a flooded roadway. Remember: Turn around. Don't drown.

KYTC will continue to provide updates as new closures are added and previous closures are cleared. Additional updates between press releases will be posted on the KYTC District 9 Facebook page.

List of roads in District 9 impacted by high water and/or mudslides: Please note this list only includes state routes. Flooded roads added throughout the day will be listed as NEW. Roads in which water has receded are listed below as 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥 and will then be removed from the list during the next update.

Bath County

  • KY 211at McCullough Hollow

Boyd County

  • CLEAR: KY 854 at the mile point 1.0
  • CLEAR: KY 1654 close to the Brothers of the Wheel intersection. 
  • CLEAR: KY 5 – at mile point 1.0 to mile point 5. (Close to Greenspringer Road to Little Garner Road KY 3293)
  • CLEAR: KY 1937 at mile point 5.4 (close to  KY 757 Whites creek)    
  • CLEAR: KY -538 at mile point 1.0   (Almost to Hickory Hill Drive)   
  • CLEAR: KY 5 at mile point 8.0 to mile point 9.0 (Between Old Buckley Road and Rockhouse Road)   

Carter County

  • KY 1496 at mile point 4.8 to 5.2 closed due to water over the roadway
  • CLEAR: KY 1612 at the Carter/Elliot line due to water over the roadway

  • NEW:KY 111 at mile point 2.760 (at the Grange City Bridge) to mile point 3.2 (approximately half a mile north of the Grange City Bridge)

  • KY 2433 002-003 (this will go down once the rain slows down)

Lewis County

  • CLEAR: KY 344 mile point 16-18 water is blocking whole road.

Mason County

  • KY 324 mile point 10.4 (Just West of KY 11)

 Nicholas County

  • CLEAR: KY 1285 mile point 0-6 (Multiple spots along entire route)
  • CLEAR: KY 36 (Between mile point 3 and mile point 4)

  • NEW: KY 3316 mile point 0-1 (KY 386 on the west end and at Upper Concord Road on the east end)

Rowan County
