Culvert to be replaced on U.S. 60 between KY 855 and KY 297
PADUCAH, Ky. (Mar. 25, 2025) – As a reminder, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Crittenden County Highway Maintenance Crew plans to close a section of U.S. 60 between Salem and Marion, starting Tuesday, April 1.
U.S. 60 will be closed near the 1-mile marker to allow an existing concrete box culvert that carries a tributary of Dry Fork Creek to be replaced with a steel culvert. This closure is along U.S. 60 between KY 855 and KY 297, about a mile east of the Crittenden-Livingston County Line.
The roadway at this site will close promptly at 7 a.m., CDT, Tuesday. Work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, weather permitting.
Eastbound traffic coming from Salem can detour from U.S. 60 via KY 855 to KY 70 to KY 91 to U.S. 641 to return to U.S. 60 in Marion (approximately 16.09 miles).
Westbound traffic coming from Marion can detour from U.S. 60 via KY 297 to KY 723 to return to U.S. 60 in Salem (approximately 17.214 miles).
NOTE: This advisory is being issued in advance to allow motorists to make advance alternate travel plans. The work is scheduled during Crittenden County Schools' Spring Break week to avoid impacting bus routes.
