Overnight Lane Closure Scheduled on I-75/I-64 Thursday, March 20 - Friday, March 21
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 20, 2025) – Construction for the I-75 widening project in Lexington will require a temporary overnight lane closure on Thursday, March 20. The closure will allow contractors to remove existing striping to prepare for an upcoming lane shift.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, contractors will close the left lane of I-75/I-64 Northbound between Winchester Road/US 60 (Exit 110) and Paris Pike/US 25 (Exit 113). All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.
Thursday, March 20, weather permitting
- At 7 p.m., the left lane of I-75/I-64 Northbound will be closed between the Winchester Road and Paris Pike exits.
- Delays are possible; please plan accordingly.
- All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Friday morning.
The work is part of the I-75 widening project. When complete in 2026, this project will reduce congestion and improve safety throughout the 2-mile corridor from the Paris Pike exit to the I-64/I-75 Southern Split. It is the second of two projects to widen I-64/I-75 to four lanes each direction in Fayette County. Find more information online at DrivingLexingtonProgress.org.
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
