Overnight Lane Closure Scheduled on I-75/I-64 Thursday, March 20 - Friday, March 21

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 20, 2025)  Construction for the I-75 widening project in Lexington will require a temporary overnight lane closure on Thursday, March 20. The closure will allow contractors to remove existing striping to prepare for an upcoming lane shift.

Beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, contractors will close the left lane of I-75/I-64 Northbound between Winchester Road/US 60 (Exit 110) and Paris Pike/US 25 (Exit 113). All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.

Thursday, March 20, weather permitting

  • At 7 p.m., the left lane of I-75/I-64 Northbound will be closed between the Winchester Road and Paris Pike exits.
  • Delays are possible; please plan accordingly.
  • All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Friday morning.

The work is part of the I-75 widening project. When complete in 2026, this project will reduce congestion and improve safety throughout the 2-mile corridor from the Paris Pike exit to the I-64/I-75 Southern Split. It is the second of two projects to widen I-64/I-75 to four lanes each direction in Fayette County. Find more information online at DrivingLexingtonProgress.org.

All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties.
