Construction to Begin on New Clayton Creek Bridge Along KY 121 South in Calloway County
Traffic to be diverted around the work zone starting Friday, March 21
PADUCAH, Ky. (Mar. 20, 2025) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to replace a bridge over Clayton Creek on KY 121 South in Calloway County.
Starting Friday, March 21, traffic will shift to the onsite diversion around the work zone at the 10.843-mile marker on KY 121 South. There will be a 45-mph speed limit.
This is between KY 893/New Providence Road and KY 1497/Murray Paris Road, southeast of Murray.
The contractor will remove the old bridge, originally built in 1932, and begin construction of a new bridge over Clayton Creek.
Motorists will use the temporary diversion until construction of the new bridge is completed. Work is expected to take about six months, weather permitting.
Jim Smith Contracting is the primary contractor on this project.
