U.S. 51/KY 58 Intersection in Clinton to Convert to Flashing 4-Way Stop on Monday, Mar. 17
Traffic study will determine if signal can be removed
PADUCAH, Ky. (Mar. 13, 2025) – The traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. 51 and KY 58 in Clinton will be placed in red flashing mode starting on Monday, March 17, creating a temporary four-way stop.
This is at the 7.65-mile marker of U.S. 51/S. Washington Street. Intersecting roadways are KY 58/Mayfield Highway and South Street.
It is part of a 90-day study by Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 1 to determine if a permanent conversion to a four-way stop would improve traffic flow.
District 1 traffic engineers will monitor the intersection at various times throughout the study, checking on traffic flow. At the end of the 90 days, engineers will evaluate findings and determine if the signal should be removed.
Approximately 5,375 vehicles travel through the U.S. 51/KY 58 intersection in an average day.
