Closure of KY 1820 at 4.45 MM in Graves County for Culvert Replacement Starting Monday, Apr. 7

Roadway to remain closed until Apr. 12

PADUCAH, Ky. (Mar. 13, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Graves County Highway Maintenance Crew plans to close a section of KY 1820, starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 7, for roadway repairs.

KY 1820 will be closed at the 4.45-mile marker, near the community of Melber. This is between KY 2151 and KY 339/Clinton Road on the Graves-McCracken County Line.

Crews will remove an existing concrete box culvert that carries a tributary of Mayfield Creek under the roadway and replace it with a prefabricated aluminum culvert.

Work is expected to be completed by April 12, weather permitting.

Approximately 628 vehicles travel this section of KY 1820 in an average day.

KYTC District 1 will provide timely notice should the roadway reopen to traffic earlier than expected.

NOTE: This advisory is being issued in advance to allow motorists to make any necessary travel arrangements for Spring Break week. A reminder will be sent as the project date approaches.
