UPDATE: Repairs on KY 1949/Wadesboro Road Bridge in Marshall County Allow for Reopening

PADUCAH, Ky. (Mar. 6, 2025) KY 1949/Wadesboro Road is open at the 3.3-mile marker in Marshall County, east of Hardin, after repairs were made to a bridge over Dry Branch Creek.

Recent flooding had washed out pavement on the bridge. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Marshall County Highway Maintenance Crew worked to fill the undermined area with rock, gravel and other materials.

As an emergency safety measure, engineers closed the bridge yesterday to assess the damage, and barricades were placed at KY 1311/Slickback Road and KY 2606/Jackson School Road.

Following repairs today, the barricades were removed, and the road was reopened to all traffic. There is a slight bump where the repairs were made, so motorists are advised to drive slowly over the area.

In a couple of weeks, a crew plans to return to pave and smooth the new surface.
