MADISONVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 14, 2025) Changes to lane restrictions along Interstate 69 in Madisonville are expected as a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet continues an interstate rehab project that started last week.

Today crews are installing a lane restriction along the two lane section of ramp that leads from KY 281 (Island Ford Road) to I-69 northbound and then becomes Exit 117 to U.S. 41. The right lane of the ramp will be blocked extend to the northside of the overpass.

Then on Monday, the existing lane restrictions along I-69 will be reversed as work moves from the median of the interstate to the opposite side of the roadway.

The work is part of a  $10 million interstate rehabilitation project along a 4.34-mile section of Interstate 69 in Madisonville. The work zone stretches from KY 70 (114.24 mp) to the KY 2657/Fowler Road overpass (118.15 mp). The project will also repair the northbound ramp at Exit 114, near James Madison Middle School.

Work is currently being carried out in the area from just south of KY 281/Island Ford Road (116.03-mile point) to just south of the KY 2657/Fowler Road overpass (118.15 mp).

Updates about the progress of the project and potential impacts on traffic flow will be released as the project moves forward.

The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-November 2025.
