Transportation Cabinet Reschedules Public Meeting for KY 55 (Taylorsville Road) and KY 155 (Taylorsville Lake Road) Improvements in Spencer and Jefferson Counties
Public invited to review and comment on preliminary roadway designs
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 3, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has rescheduled the public meeting for the KY 55 (Taylorsville Road) and KY 155 (Taylorsville Lake Road) highway improvement project in Spencer and Jefferson Counties. Initially set for Feb. 20 but postponed due to winter weather, the meeting will now take place on Tuesday, March 18.
The highway improvement project will address increasing traffic demands driven by significant population shifts from urban areas to suburban and rural communities while enhancing safety, reducing congestion, and increasing capacity along the nine-mile corridor. The project corridor extends from KY 55 (Taylorsville Road) at KY 1169 in Spencer County to KY 155 (Taylorsville Lake Road) near KY 148 in Jefferson County.
The meeting will be an open house event (no formal presentation) held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Spencer County High School, 520 Taylorsville Road, Taylorsville, Ky. Those who are interested may drop in at any time to review the preliminary designs, receive handouts containing project information, and fill out comment sheets. Representatives from KYTC and the engineering design consultant will be in attendance to answer questions.
An online survey will be made available following the public meeting. The final design phase will take place over the next year after the consideration of public feedback.
All written comments will become part of the official meeting record. Once compiled, the meeting record and supporting documentation will be made available for review and copying only after an Open Records Request has been received and approved. All Open Records Requests must be submitted to the Transportation Cabinet, Office of Legal Services, Transportation Office Building (200 Metro St, Frankfort, KY 40622), or via kytc.openrecords@ky.gov.
