Rolling Roadblock on I-71 in Gallatin County on Tuesday, March 4

Crews will begin pothole patching operations at 8:30 a.m.

COVINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 28, 2025) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of rolling roadblocks on Interstate 71 in Gallatin County on Tuesday, March 4. Traffic will be temporarily slowed down and, at times, stopped to allow crews space to patch potholes. This project will improve safety on the area interstates.

Crews will begin patching potholes on I-71 southbound between the Owenton/Glencoe Exit (mile point 62) and the Gallatin/Carroll County line (mile point 53), a distance of 9 miles. Once that work has been completed, crews will shift to I-71 northbound from the Gallatin/Carroll County line to the Owenton/Glencoe Exit.

Our KYTC Gallatin County maintenance crew will begin pothole patching operations at 8:30 a.m. These repairs are expected to take a couple hours to complete.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, and to find an alternate route during these hours to avoid delays. Motorists should adhere to posted signage, and not pass crews blocking ramps during the rolling roadblock. Please, drive safely to keep our work zones and workers safe.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can get Northern Kentucky road construction updates on the District 6 Roadshow. Follow KYTC District 6 on Facebook or Twitter.
