State Highway Crews Continue to Plow and Spot Treat Roads in NE Kentucky

Preparing for next wave of forecast snow

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (5:00 PM Feb 19, 2025)  State salt truck and plow crews remain on roads in all northeast Kentucky counties clearing and spot treating as  additional snowfall is expected late this evening into the overnight.

At 5 p.m., crews in Bath, Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Greenup, Lewis, Mason, Nicholas, and Rowan counties report that Priority A routes are mostly clear and have continued to clear B and C priority routes.

Snowfighters will continue to work on 12-hour shifts as the next wave of this winter storm moves across Kentucky.

With more than 1,400 plow trucks available and more than 2,300 staff and crew members, KYTC maintains most roads, streets and bridges that are part of the State Highway System, including interstates, parkways, and U.S. route designations. Crews operate on a four-tier priority system to keep people and commerce moving in the most effective way.
