Transportation Cabinet Seeking Public Feedback for Interstate 264 Bridge Replacement Project Near KY 1934 (Cane Run Road)
Online survey available now through Feb. 16
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 16, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is seeking public feedback for the upcoming replacement of a bridge on Interstate 264 (Georgia Davis Powers Expressway) over the Paducah & Louisville Railroad between Camp Ground Road and KY 1934 (Cane Run Road).
The existing bridge, which has been in service for nearly 50 years, will undergo a full replacement of all major structural components beginning in 2026. This project will enhance safety and improve operational efficiency on this section of I-264. The bridge replacement project will not impact residential properties, and traffic on I-264 will continue during construction, though temporary traffic disruptions are anticipated.
To address potential challenges, KYTC encourages the public to share their feedback on anticipated traffic impacts and other concerns during the construction phase. An online survey, available in both English and Spanish, is open now through February 16, 2025. Before completing the survey, participants are encouraged to review detailed project information provided in the StoryMap.
Input received from the survey efforts will be compiled and considered as maintenance of traffic plans are finalized. All responses will become part of the official meeting record. Once compiled, all supporting documentation will be made available for review and copying only after an Open Records Request has been received and approved. All Open Records Requests must be submitted to the Transportation Cabinet, Office of Legal Services, Transportation Office Building, 200 Metro St, Frankfort, KY 40622, or via kytc.openrecords@ky.gov.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), anyone with a disability requiring assistance is asked to contact (502) 764-0481 no later than Monday, Feb. 10.
