District 4 Winter Weather Travel 9am Update
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (Jan. 11, 2025) – Road crews treated and plowed overnight and continue working this morning. Current air and pavement temperatures are allowing treatment to remain effective. There are still snow showers reported in northeastern counties of the district (Nelson, Washington, Marion, Taylor).
Main/higher volume routes are mostly clear with slushy or wet patches in counties not receiving precipitation. Lower volume routes are clear in stretches, with areas of slush and patches of packed snow in shaded areas.
Crews will continue working today on areas that are not clear, along with pushing back ramp/shoulder areas of interstates parkways and divided highways.
Temperatures expected into the lower 30s and some expected breaking of the cloud layer will help dry off pavement surfaces today. Temperatures well above freezing and sunshine are expected for Sunday across most of the district which should clear any remaining patches.
