TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Immediate Closure of Interstate 264 East and West Due to Downed Electrical Wires
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 9, 2025) – A section of Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway) in eastern Jefferson County is temporarily closed in both directions due to downed electrical wires. The temporary closure affects I-264 East and West between KY 1447 (Westport Road) at mile point 20.7 and the I-264/I-71 interchange near KY 22 (Brownsboro Road) at mile point 22.7.
Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company (LG&E-KU) is necessitating the closure to address the issue. The closure is expected to remain in place through approximately 5 p.m. as LG&E-KU crews work to repair the downed wires and restore service.
