Next Phase of U.S. 31-W Widening in Northern Warren County has Started

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Nov. 18, 2024) – The next phase of U.S. 31-W widening in northern Warren County has started. Crews have started moving dirt to widen U.S. 31-W from U.S. 68 (mile point 20.9) to Mizpah Road (mile point 22.5). The project will widen U.S. 31-W to four lanes improving safety and efficiency for motorists while also improving access to the Kentucky Transpark.

“Freight movement is vital to the Transpark and its businesses,” Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 Chief Engineer Joe Plunk said. “U.S. 31-W is a National Truck Network route, and this project modernizes the road to improve mobility along this important corridor.”

The project is expected to be completed by summer of 2026. Cleary Construction Inc. was awarded the contract in August for $9.6 million.
