Traffic Impacts for I-471 Maintenance Work in Campbell County on Thursday, Nov. 7

Crews will mill and patch potholes in several areas

COVINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 7, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of evening/overnight traffic impacts for a maintenance project on Interstate 471 in Campbell County on Thursday, Nov. 7.

Tentative Schedule of Work

  • Thursday, Nov. 7 at 8:30 p.m.: KYTC Campbell County maintenance crews will set up an I-471 northbound single left lane closure near the Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) (1.7 mile point) exit. This single left lane closure will be in place from mile point 1.6 to mile point 1.9, a distance of 0.3 miles. Crews will mill and pave an area that was damaged due to a recent vehicle fire. This work is expected to take several hours.
  • Once northbound work is completed, crews will reopen the I-471 northbound left lane, and then switch to close the ramp from I-471 southbound to I-275 eastbound (mile point 0.0 to 0.436), a distance of 0.436 miles. Crews will patch potholes in this area to improve safety for motorists. This ramp closure will be in place for approximately 15-30 minutes.

Signage will be in place warning motorists of the upcoming lane and ramp closure. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route while this work is being completed.

Weather permitting, crews anticipate this work will be completed by Friday, Nov. 8 at 12:30 a.m.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
