UPDATE: Burns Creek Bridge on KY 126 in Caldwell County to be Closed for up to Three Months

Expected to reopen in October

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 8, 2024)Work on the KY 126 bridge over Burns Creek was completed on Tuesday and the roadway has reopened to traffic.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (June 30, 2024) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to begin demolition and replacement of a bridge on KY 126 in Caldwell County next week. The closure is expected to be completed in October. 

Beginning on Monday, July 8, Scott and Murphy will close the KY 126 bridge over Burns Creek, located at the 1.65 mile point, to begin demolition. 

Message boards warning of the impending closure have already been placed on the roadway. There is a marked detour in place using KY 276 (Blackhawk Road), KY 139 (Cadiz Road) and KY 514.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
