TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane Closures on U.S. 127 (Lawrenceburg Road) at two intersections to begin Monday, September 30, in Franklin County

Crews to upgrade traffic signals

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 29, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of lane closures on U.S. 127 (Lawrenceburg Road) at two intersections set to begin Monday, September 30, in Franklin County.

Alternating lane closures will occur at the U.S. 127 and Century Plaza intersection beginning on Monday, September 30, at 9 a.m. and continue through 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, as crews work to update the signal infrastructure. The signal update involves removing five-section heads and wiring, installing new signal heads, and upgrading pedestrian buttons. The new signals will also feature retroreflective backplates, enhancing visibility in both daytime and nighttime conditions.

Alternating lane closures will also occur at the U.S. 127 and Limestone Drive intersection on Monday, September 30, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. as crews update the signal infrastructure. The upgraded three-section signals will include retroreflective backplates and flashing yellow left-turn arrows, reducing congestion and improving safety.

During the installation process, the signals will not be functional. Motorists should expect to navigate the intersection via temporary stop signs while treating the intersection as an all-way stop. Motorists should use caution and heed signage while approaching the intersection due to the overhead installation work.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
