Traffic Impacts on Portion of Burlington Pike (KY 18) in Boone County for Water Main Installation Project
Temporary traffic signals will be installed to direct traffic around work zone
COVINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 26, 2024) – A water main installation project is in progress on Burlington Pike (KY 18) from Botts Lane (mile point 5.2) to Kelly Elementary School (mile point 2.5) in Boone County. The water main is being installed by the Boone County Water District.
Crews will be working from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Temporary traffic signals will be installed during those hours to direct traffic around the work zone. Once the workday is complete the signals will be removed.
Motorists should be aware of construction personnel, equipment, lane shifts and slowed traffic throughout the project limits.
This project is expected to be completed by the end of November. KYTC will provide updates as needed via the District 6 Roadshow.
Project Background: The Boone County Water District recently finished installing water main on Burlington Pike from Green Acres Lane (mile point 8.3) to Botts Lane (mile point 5.2). This project is a continuation of the water main installation along Burlington Pike.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can get Northern Kentucky road construction updates on the District 6 Roadshow.
