New Pride Elementary Queue Opens to Traffic
Project slated to be finished by end of November
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 23, 2024) – A nearly $650,000 investment by the Commonwealth of Kentucky to prioritize safe access to Kentucky schools took a big step in Madisonville on Monday in the form of a traffic shift at Pride Elementary School.
Traffic flow shifted as car rider queue traffic shifting from the existing entrance of the school on Pride Avenue (KY 1581) to the newly constructed and extended line, which begins on Pride Avenue Drive and wraps around the outer edge of school property.
The new design is expected to reduce wait times on Pride Avenue during afternoon student pickup.
Construction continues on the entrance to the parking lot along Pride Avenue. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
