Resurfacing Project on Madison Pike/E. 20th Street (KY 17) in Kenton County Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 17

Crews will work between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

COVINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 16, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will begin a resurfacing project on Madison Pike/E. 20th Street (KY 17) in Kenton County on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Crews will resurface Madison Pike/E. 20th Street from Latonia Avenue (mile point 20.45) to Greenup Street (mile point 22.31), a distance of 1.86 miles. This project includes the resurfacing of E. 20th Street from Madison Pike to Greenup Street.

On Tuesday, Sept. 17, crews plan to cut loops at a station near East 24th Street. Crews will address base failures beginning the week of Monday, Sept. 23. Milling and paving operations have not yet been scheduled. KYTC will advise on the District 6 Roadshow when milling/paving operations have been scheduled.

This work will be performed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. In areas with two lanes, traffic will be maintained with flaggers to guide traffic safely through the work zone. In areas where Madison Pike is three to four lanes, one lane will be maintained in each direction at all times.

Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route to avoid possible delays. Expect delays during peak travel periods. Please, drive carefully to keep our crews safe through this heavily traveled corridor.

Riegler Blacktop Inc. is contracted to perform the $666,303 project on behalf of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Weather permitting, the project has an expected completion date of Nov. 15, 2024.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can get Northern Kentucky road construction updates on the District 6 Roadshow. Follow KYTC District 6 on Facebook or Twitter.
