TRAFFIC ADVISORY: New Route Connecting KY 3084 (Old Henry Road) and KY 362 (Ash Avenue) Now Open

Improved access to I-265 for Oldham, Shelby, and Jefferson County motorists

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 11, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that the new route connecting KY 3084 (Old Henry Road) and KY 362 (Ash Avenue) is now open. This improvement project will provide enhanced connectivity to Interstate 265 for motorists traveling from Oldham, Shelby, and eastern Jefferson County.

The newly completed extension of KY 3084 transitions from a rural setting near Bush Farm Road, east of the I-265 interchange, to an urban configuration as it continues eastward. The new route extends from Jefferson County into Oldham County, meeting KY 362 (Ash Avenue).

This infrastructure upgrade addresses the needs of both residential and commercial developments in the area. While most of the surrounding land is residential, the area near the I-265 interchange hosts industrial, commercial, and medical facilities. This roadway improvement project will facilitate more efficient access to and from these residential neighborhoods and commercial hubs. The project also included the widening of the previously existing two-lane facility to a three-lane urban typical roadway, improving connectivity and traffic flow.

Motorists should exercise caution as they adjust to the new traffic patterns. Work to complete some final details of the project is still underway, and intermittent lane closures are possible. The project, which began in October 2022, was completed ahead of schedule under a $5.4 million contract awarded to Louisville Paving Company, Inc.
