KY 191 in Wolfe County to be closed Saturday, Sept. 14

JACKSON, Ky.  Drivers who use KY 191 near Stillwater in Wolfe County will need to find an alternate route on Saturday, Sept. 14. The road will be closed at milepoint 4.9 for replacement of a drainage pipe. Work will begin at 8 a.m. and should be completed by 4 p.m. This location is just west of the KY 1812 intersection and is approximately two miles east of the Mountain Parkway at Exit 46.Travel between Campton and Hazel Green will be affected.

No marked detour will be posted. Local passenger vehicle traffic can use KY 1812 and KY 2491 as an alternate route to bypass the closure. Commercial vehicles and through traffic should use the Mountain Parkway and KY 205. Due to the ongoing Mountain Parkway widening project. left turns are prohibited from the eastbound Mountain Parkway onto northbound KY 1010 at Exit 53, so that route cannot be used as a detour for eastbound KY 191 traffic from Campton to Hazel Green.

In case of inclement weather, the closure may be postponed until another suitable date.

Approximately 1,800 vehicles use this section of KY 191 each day.
