Highway Improvement Project expected to begin Thursday, August 29 on Hal Rogers Parkway in Laurel County
MANCHESTER, Ky. (August 28, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 11 Office advises motorists that a Highway Safety Improvement Project will begin Thursday, August 29 in Laurel County on Hal Rogers Parkway between mile points 10.385 and mile point 10.558 at the junction of Jerry’s Road.
Traffic will be controlled by lane closures and flagging operations. Traffic should expect delays in the area between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. the following morning.
The work is necessary to apply a high friction surface course at the intersection to help with safe stopping. Motorists should also be aware of the loose aggregate in the area.
Signs will be posted.
KYTC asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can access travel and traffic conditions at http://goky.ky.gov or contribute their reports at www.waze.com or via the Waze mobile application.
